My primary goal here at is to bring glory to Jesus my Lord by sharing the many ways he is actively working in my life to make me into the man he created me to be. I don’t claim to have any superior knowledge of God or some kind of inside track to the wonders of his kingdom. What I do have is a desire in my spirit to please God and to overcome my sinful nature; to empty myself of me as much as I can and allow God to transform me so that I am more like Christ every day. My purpose is to honor God and to serve people. Sure, I hope to sell a bunch of books on the site when they become available this spring, and then for as long as God blesses me with the privilege of writing for him, but mostly I hope to honor God and serve people with the things he puts on my heart to share.

Forget Waldo! Where’s Jesus?

This is the cutest story, I just have to share it. I was putting my youngest three (Josh and Cade are 4, Jude is 2) to bed in their room last night. As is typical, Jude wanted me to walk him so he could fall asleep while the twins were lying in their beds, hopefully soon to drift off. After saying our nighttime prayers, which included thanking God/Jesus for always being with us and keeping us safe, Cade said, “Dad, where is Jesus?”

“Well, he’s right here. He’s a spirit, so he’s invisible. We can’t see him, but we know he’s right here, all around us.”

No response.

“It’s like the wind. You can’t see it, but you can feel it and when you see the trees moving and stuff, you know it’s there. God is like that. You can’t see him with your eyes, but we know he is right here with us all the time.”

Cade responded with an “Oh,” or something like that.

Suddenly, Jude’s head shot up off my shoulder. He shouted, “Dad! Dad!” and was pointing over my shoulder to a painting of Jesus hanging on the wall. “Dad, I found Jesus! He’s right there!” he said, so proud that he had found him for us.

“Yes, he is, Jude. Good job! That’s a picture of him, isn’t it?”

He was so pleased that he had found Jesus for us, it was difficult to explain to his brother why Daddy was laughing so hard.
